Parker Shea, Community Outreach Coordinator, Boston and Nicaragua (Summer 2011)

Parker Shea is a 2011 graduate from Northeastern University with a BA in Sociology with a concentration in Environmental Studies. Raised in the Greater Boston area, Parker is passionate about his local community and in engineering a brighter future by empowering youth to become leaders both locally and globally. Community service has always played a big role in Parker’s life.

An Eagle Scout, Parker has extensive experience working with and leading adolescent youth in community service projects promoting environmental sustainability and social change. Parker is fluent in English and conversational in Spanish. He enjoys reading, traveling, playing Frisbee and relaxing with friends. Having studied in Barcelona, Spain as well as volunteering with an Eco-tourism resort in St. John’s USVI, Parker is excited to join the GP Boston team in April 2011 and looks forward to joining GP youth and fellow staff in Nicaragua during the summer 2011.
