Lissan Hardware, Dominican Republic Summer Youth Facilitator, 2011

Lissan is a graduate student at Columbia University pursuing a Master’s of Science in Social Work with a field of practice in Contemporary Social Issues. Lissan was born in Jamaica and moved to the New York at the age of 14. Lissan attended University of Hartford where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice. After earning her undergraduate degree, Lissan worked in the foster care system as a case planner for 3 years. Currently she is volunteering at Ali Forney working with Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Trans-gender, and Queer homeless youth. Lissan enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling. Lissan is looking forward to working with GP, the students, and the people in Dominican Republic.
