Christine Dominguez, Nicaragua Summer Youth Facilitator, 2011

Christine Dominguez is second year Masters in Social Work candidate at Columbia University specializing in Advanced General Practice and Programming with a concentration in Contemporary Social Issues. Originally from Southern California Christine received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of Southern California. Christine’s passion and dedication for social welfare, and social justice emerged through many personal experiences and was later solidified when she began her work in gang intervention among youth with Communities in Schools in Los Angeles, CA. Christine also has experience in domestic violence work, educating youth on teen dating violence and training them to become peer advocates against domestic violence. Christine’s passion, is working with youth and hopes to continue pursing a career dedicated to empowering and motivating youth to make positive change in their communities as well as in their own lives. Christine will be a Youth Facilitators in Nicaragua this summer and is really excited to be part of this transformational experience with the youth.
