Foundations

The Brooklyn Community Foundation aims to improve the lives of people in Brooklyn by strengthening communities through local giving, grantmaking and community service. In 2009 they awarded GP a mini-grant.
The Columbia Alumni Association, Co-Sponsorship Fund : The Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) seeks to strengthen the bonds between Columbians of all generations and geographies through events, programs, and online resources that reach alumni worldwide and students on campus. CAA provides funding to support GP’s events that feature our summer interns from CUPID.
The JUMP Foundation is an experiential education provider that was established to respond to the need in youth education for programs that address issues of leadership and global citizenship. In 2009 JUMP provided the funding for the Open Space Youth Conference that we held in the Dominican Republic, and in 2010 they are giving us $10,000 to host youth leadership conferences in both DR and Haiti.
The Tribeca Film Institute offers year-round funding and support to help get movies made, while advancing artist programs that teach filmmakers how to navigate a constantly changing film industry while staying true to their creative vision. They have awarded us with the Camera-to-Classroom Fund, which is sponsored by JP Morgan Chase.

Agenda for Children Tomorrow (ACT) is a public-private partnership that promotes the well-being of children, families, and neighborhoods in New York City by working to improve services and to strengthen the capacities of communities. ACT generously provides office space to Global Potential.
Flip Video Spotlight provides discounted Flip Video products to GP.
Fotki is a low-cost, easy photo sharing site, which delivers state-of-the-art photo products and prints, grows healthy professional photographers’ business, and provides a thriving online community of photo fans who share their work online.
The Google Grants supports organizations sharing Google’s philosophy of community service to help the world in areas such as science and technology, education, global public health, the environment, youth advocacy, and the arts. GP was awarded a Google Grant, an in-kind advertising program.
The Huddle Foundation offers Huddle completely free to selected registered charities. Huddle provides simple, secure online workspaces containing powerful project and collaboration tools.
iCouldBe provides GP participants with free access to their acclaimed mentoring and career and college guidance program.
Most Valuable Kids provides Global Potential Youth with incredible experiences through tickets to Professional Sports games, Opera, Ballet, the Circus, and many more.
Opening Doors To Prosperity was founded by individuals working in the Hotel Industry, and supports non-profits through event organization and community service. ODTP generously organized and hosted the 2010 Spring Wine Tasting Event for GP.
Panasonic donated a Toughbook for GP participants to bring to the villages with them. And it survived!
Salesforce is the enterprise cloud-computing company, providing sales and customer service applications to over 72,000 customers.
Turn 2 Foundation, founded by Yankees captain Derek Jeter, gives GP donations of auction items for our fundraising events, and educational supplies, hats, sunscreen, and bags for our students as they head to the villages.

Technical Assistance

NPower Community Corp provides skilled volunteers to nonprofits that are in need of technology skills. Currently, we have a fantastic consultant working with us on Salesforce setup.
Community Resource Exchange provides strategic advice, consulting, information, guidance, resources, management assistance and leadership development to community-based organizations and nonprofit leaders working on poverty issues. CRE provided GP with pro-bono strategic advice and technical services in 2008.
The Improv Group is a consulting organization that helps organizations deliver more effective services and programs.Global Potential was selected to receive research and planning expertise pro-bono for fall 2010.
United Way of NYC’s BoardServeNYC was launched in response to ‘NYC Service – A Blueprint to Increase Civic Engagement,’ Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg‘s plan to increase volunteerism and support nonprofits within New York City. BoardServeNYC builds the capacity of Globalhood by connecting us to a pool of prospective board members.
