Losangela, 14, John D O'Bryant, Boston, Originally from Cape Verde

Losangela is a 14 year old girl who attends the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science. She attends a program called Squash Busters. There she plays squash and does her homework there also. She is originally from Cape Verde, where she grew up with her family. She came to the United States in 2007 with her family and it was hard at first for her to adapt to the new culture and environment. She had a great challenge which was learn English and she accomplished it in a year. She speaks 3 languages which are: Portuguese, Capeverdean Creole and English and also understands Spanish well.
In her free time she likes to play squash, spend time with her family and friends. She does a lot of community service with Squash Busters and learns a lot after every serving. She wants to go to college and be a doctor and also study abroad in India for a year. She loves helping others, especially people who are in need. She also loves traveling and meeting new people. She is curious about new things and is always with a positive attidude. Her family and friends call her Lo.
