Stephanie, 14, John D O'Bryant, Boston, Originally from Cape Verde

Stephanie is a young 14 year old girl, at the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science in Boston. In her now fourth year in the US, she has made new friends, learned how to write and read all in English. She is proud of herself for doing this but there are many other things that she wants to achieve. This is to achieve many things with GP at whatever it is they do. She is happy to be part of the GP family because it is all for such a great reason such as community service.
Born in Cape Verde, Stephanie only came to the US when she was 10 years old. She came with her mother, older brother and her yet to be born brother. Her dad is still in Cape Verde with the rest of the family and supporting them. When she first came to the U.S., it was her first time ever seeing snow. It was such a wonderful yet cold experience. She was then put back one grade because she knew no English but was placed back because of her rapid improvement. Now in high school she awaits whatever will come her way.
Stephanie is a very sweat young girl. She is very supportive of whoever needs whenever they need support. One thing she loves and will do all day long if you let her is to watch anime and read manga. She loves to listen to music eventhough she does not know their names. Her favorite sport is squash which she plays three times a week at an afterschool program called Squash Busters. There she plays, does her homework and at times community service.
