Hui, 17, International High School @ Prospect Heights, New York, Originally from China

My name is Hui L. and I am from China. I am 17 years old and am in 10th grade at the International High School @ Prospect Heights in Brooklyn, NY. I speak Mandarin Chinese and English. My interests are finding fun things to play with and reading non-fiction or Do-It-Yourself books. I decided to join Global Potential because I wanted to challenge myself, learn new skills, and help different communities. Since participating in GP so far, I have learned that different people have different ways to solve problems. As a leader in the community, we need to try to understand others’ views and needs and try to help them. By taking a trip to another community this summer, I hope to use the experiences that I learn, teach others and try to let them understand the strengths and weakness of their community.
