Summer 2021 Newsletter Hello GP community! We hope you are surviving the heat ☀️  and enjoying a new sense of safety after getting your COVID-19 vaccination 💉. We are well underway with our summer programming and have many updates to share. Read on to learn more! Summer Programming in NYC The Civic Engagement & Service Learning (CESL) Program aims to empower youth as an agent of change who actively contributes to social justice activism. The CESL program offers an experiential curriculum to cultivate positive identity, civic efficacy, and leadership skills driven by mentorship. Learn more about the CESL Program We have our last GP UNITE! alumni networking event of the season coming up! Come and meet old and new friends alike. We will share some GP updates as well as fellowship and remember the good times Register for GP Unite! this Friday! Every summer since its founding in 2007, GP has organized a Youth Leadership Conference using an Open Space approach and Design Thinking activities. Historically, the GP Conference has been an exciting culmination of the program year when youth from different communities are able to travel to new places and exchange ideas across cultures, language barriers, and borders. These conferences are energetic spaces of friendship, inspiration, and youth power. Many alumni say that the GP Conference was their favorite GP activity and changed their life. This year's conference theme is “Connection During COVID." The YLC will be held entirely virtually to accommodate safety protocol in our various communities. All alumni and current participants from our communities around the world are invited to join! We will have programming available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Kreyol.  The YLC will be held on Saturday, August 7th, 10am-12pm EST. Register for the Youth Leadership Conference on Aug 7!
